New Model Announcements: Celebrating 60 Years of Mustang

In 2024, Ford globally celebrated 60 Years of Mustang and we're excited to reveal to collectors two new 1:18 scale Mustang models which are now available to pre-order at stockists or register your interest on our website.

Since 1964, more than 10 million Mustangs have been sold across seven generations and the iconic sports car has become a phenom of popular culture and media.

Perhaps more significantly for racing fans, the Mustang has also enjoyed a storied motorsport record both internationally and locally. It achieved its first victory in the Tour de France Automobile in its first year on sale and is widely reported to have won its first circuit race anywhere in the world at the hands of Norm Beechey at Calder Park Raceway here in Australia in 1965.

Beechey also won the 1965 Australian Touring Car Championship that year, kicking off a run of five consecutive championships for Mustang with Ian Geoghegan taking out the next four between 1966 to 1969.

Since then, the Mustang has continued to win the hearts and minds of fans while recording significant victories and championships in a variety of racing categories around the world.

With the above in mind, we were honoured when Ford encouraged us to design a special limited edition Gen3 Mustang collectors model to celebrate the milestone.

60 Years Of Mustang Special Edition

Designed by Tristan Groves for Authentic Collectables and Ford Performance, Tristan has created a livery which takes the official 60 Years of Mustang logo by Ford and other notable branding elements to create a very unique collectable.

The various striping patterns which make up the base of the livery have been inspired by the history of Mustang and the offical 60 years logo. Those elements, combined with asymmetrical design characteristics, the menacing black pony on the sides, the number 60, Ford branding and red, white, black and deep blue colour scheme form an absolutely jaw-dropping livery.

It's a must have for Ford collectors.

Moving on, our range of Imagination Project models has generated plenty of excitement for collectors recently and the 60 Years of Mustang milestone presented the perfect opportunity to introduce the next edition in this range.

Based on an iconic Mustang, raced in a golden era of Australian motorsport, the simple #1 white red and blue livery has been replicated in-house by the Authentic Collectables research and development team to fit the new Gen3 S650 body Mustang.

It fits perfectly, it looks incredible and fits the theme very well. We hope collectors agree.

Both models are scheduled to be produced in 1:18 scale high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors in one-off, individually numbered limited editions.
